This one is finished! I was making this for H’s speech therapist, who is amazing and expecting a baby girl next month. And I got it delivered to her this week before she heads off on maternity leave. We will miss her! So, she gets a quilt.

With no camp or school program for H this summer, and Mama still trying to get some work done, it’s hard to fight the temptation to let her sit in front of the TV for hours while I get stuff done. And I will admit, there are days when that happens. But aside from our summer field trips, I’ve been turning off the TV and trying to put different activities in front of her to stay busy and engaged.

I’m not even sure if I can count this as our first sewing project, but it’s our first attempt. I bought this adorable dino kit on our UK trip and thought it would be a really good place to start with H and sewing.

This is the summer of adventures. The past two years, H attended her school’s toddler summer program every day. But she’s not in the toddler program anymore, and no more summer program. She’s not quite ready for camp, so it is H and me together all day, every day.

So this chevron quilt is from Crazy Mom Quilts Zig Zag Quilt tutorial. I know usually chevrons are made with half square triangles, but I just could not face HSTs at the moment. I needed to get this quilt done ASAP. And this tutorial has been fabulous.
