We’ve been trying a thing around here, or at least I’ve been trying a thing, to better organize our time. Because I’m not a homeschooler. But…I work. I work at home, I have a child in half day preschool (probably next year as well), I have a child getting 4 sessions of private speech and OT each week, I do not have childcare, I do not want to just park my 5-year-old in front of the TV all day.

A couple of weeks ago H and I drove out to Trenton after her Tuesday therapies to check out the New Jersey State Museum, which is FREE. I have a Groupon for the planetarium, but we got there around 2pm and all the shows were done for the day. Another trip, we will be back!

I took H to Field Station: Dinosaurs last summer because it was scheduled to close at the end of the season. But, surprise! It’s been reopened temporarily in Overpeck Park in Bergen County. And I’ve heard that there are plans to eventually move it to a new, permanent location.

This is a NJ attraction that’s been around for a few years, but this is its last summer. So H is just old enough to check it out, and I thought it was great. She was fairly suspicious of the dinosaurs, but this was her field trip choice last week. I gave her a choice between Lego store and dinosaurs, and when you have the chance to pick dinosaurs you pick dinosaurs!
