If you haven’t read this book yet, go buy it.

Right now, I’ll wait.

Okay, do you have it? Good, because this is the most feel-good concoction of summer perfection I’ve ever read. I actually read it 2 months ago, and I’m still sad that I will never again have that “My God, this is amazing!” feeling of a first-time read of Anna. I envy you for just settling down with it, meeting Anna and Etienne for the first time. My friend Julie gave me a copy for my birthday in February, she was wild about this book. When I finally sat down to read it, I was so smitten I stayed up all night to finish it. I literally went to bed at 7am on a Sunday morning because I was wide awake with it and couldn’t stop reading. I can’t remember the last time that happened.

Check out how incredibly ginormous our daisy bushes have gotten since everything on the patio was planted last summer.

Those roses are no slouch, either. I love it back there!

Two weeks from today, I will be heading to Florida with my brother for LeakyCon. I cannot wait, I’m so excited to celebrate the final Harry Potter film with a city full of geeky lovers of the series. The Con is having 2 screenings of the final movie, on the 14th instead of the 15th, and I am over the moon about that, too. Not midnight releases, actual day before screenings. PLUS, we’re taking over the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios on the night of the 13th. Amazing. I can’t believe this era is ending.

Other pie/apron projects: January Pie: Lemon Meringue, February Pie: Milk Chocolate Pudding, March Pie: Thin Mint Grasshopper, Recipe-A-Day Week Vol. IV Day 7: Quakertown Crumb Pie (April), May Pie: Strawberry.

I did not make an apron this month, and I’m completely unapologetic about it. The end of the school year is always chaos, and I threw this gorgeous pie together last Sunday morning before a cookout. It is an amazing pie from The Pioneer Woman, like a pineapple version of Lemon Meringue. But I decided to give myself a break and enjoy the pie without the extra step of making an apron. Plus, Adam and his friends devoured this in about ten minutes, I hardly had time to photograph it. Maybe I’ll double up on aprons 1 month to come out with 12 of each at the end of the year.
