This month I took pictures of my outfits every day, not just on work days. So I have a rogues gallery of myself while sick (the 4 days in pajamas), wearing Adam’s McLaren shirt for Favorite Sports Team Day, in costume as Waldo, and sometimes even with Adam lurking in the background.

I am so late to the pumpkin carving table this year, it’s been a long week. But today I finally carved up some pumpkins, with Adam’s help. First time he’d ever carved one!

Last year I did spooky villages and jack o’ lanterns painted black. This year I carved “Trick or Treat” into 3 pumpkins (although my “Treat” looks pretty insane). Adam carved a face, and I carved a face, too. Now they’re all glowing on the porch, ready for tomorrow’s trick-or-treaters. Adam took these photos for me, I’m terrible at night-time photos.

I tried to make all the words a different font, but my “Treat” just came out ginormous. The candle inside keeps blowing out because the holes are big and let all the wind in. :/

Last year I went as the Paper Bag Princess for Halloween. This year all the teachers decided to dress up as Waldo. I decided I had the perfect hair for Waldo’s hat, so I spray painted my hair red and white (with Adam’s help!) to look like his hat. I kind of loved this costume! The shirt was $10 at Old Nay, then $6 for hair paint and I was done. And the kids got such a huge kick out of seeing me with my hair dyed, although a lot of them thought I was the Cat in the Hat.

I made Beef Teriyaki for dinner tonight and remembered I made this same recipe a while back with pork, took photos, and never posted it. So, the time has come. It’s a super-simple recipe that takes maybe half an hour to prepare (including the time it takes to make the rice in our rice cooker). I add snow peas (and sometimes red onion) to make it a full-on stir fry.

I’ve done a lot since my Back to School List, and I’ve updated that one with all the things I’ve gotten done. But I’ve got all new things juggling in the air now that the holidays are approaching. I have so few free weekends left in 2010, I’ve really got to get myself organized. October has sailed by in this haze, I’m not sure exactly how that happened. But now it’s time get serious!
