Last Saturday we went apple picking at Battleview Orchards. We stopped for hot donuts and cider first, then headed to the fields. This was H’s first real outing as a walker, and it was pretty fun.

After our 3 days in Maine, we spent an afternoon in Portsmouth, NH before heading to Cape Cod for 2 nights.

The main reason we stopped in Portsmouth was because they had a quilt shop. And Portsmouth Fabric Company is a great quilt shop. I scored some Denyse Schmidt, Birch Fabrics, and Cloud9, as well as a great home dec weight hedgehog print from Cosmo.

But this time instead of Boston and Vermont, we spent a night in Mystic, Connecticut, went back to Portland for a few days, and then finished up in Cape Cod.

The trip up to CT was insane, the traffic through NYC was so much worse than we expected. But, we did find a Shake Shack in Westport that made everyone’s mood better. I’d never been to one, but Adam had one near his old work office.

H really liked the shakes.
