So this chevron quilt is from Crazy Mom Quilts Zig Zag Quilt tutorial. I know usually chevrons are made with half square triangles, but I just could not face HSTs at the moment. I needed to get this quilt done ASAP. And this tutorial has been fabulous.

It takes a little time to get your mind around the layout of a quilt like this, especially when your sewing time tends to be at night after putting a 4-year-old to sleep.

So I had a few stops and starts while I tried to keep track of the pattern, but it was pretty straightforward to see the pattern once I got the hang of it. This one gets pieced on the diagonal, which was also a first for me.

And it’s lovely, with these low volume pastels. I love, love, love Kate & Birdie’s Storybook collection for Moda. It’s adorable, and I’m so glad to finally be using it.

Now I’ve got the top squared up and trimmed, so I’ll sandwich it and quilt it. I’m trying to deliver this one for Monday (why is it always Monday?), so hopefully the rest of this goes quickly!
