We Have Snow!

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

It only took till late January to really get here, but finally some of the white stuff landed overnight last night. Yay!

Yep, It Really Did Snow Last Night

Three days into spring, and we get this:

Come On, Spring

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

February was a turtleneck kind of month. The snow had mostly melted by my birthday, but the temperature has been so jumpy. I honestly can’t quite believe it’s March. Seven months of school down, 3 more to go!

Under the Weather

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

I’ve been a little under the weather this week, a bug I’ve been fighting off seems to have finally broken through and laid me out flat. Today I stayed home and slept all day, and after this post I will be going back to bed to sleep some more. We had a great Valentine’s Day at home, and at some point soon I will post about my February pie and apron. But not today, I need something a little easier.

And since I think “under the weather” is a very weird phrase, and it’s the middle of February and the weather here in NJ has been so mild that all of the snow is just about melted away, I remembered these snowman collages that I made with some of our special needs students at school.

We made these about a month ago, when we were knee-deep in snow days and bad weather. I’d forgotten all about them. And I have to admit, as much as I hate shoveling snow, it’s making me the tiniest bit sad to see all of the snow melting away already.

Winter Antiques Show

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

Last night I braved the extremely cold temperatures to meet up with Meredith at the Winter Antiques Show at the Armory. Everyone was so posh (I was still wearing my turtleneck and fur-lined boots from school) that I didn’t want to conspicuously walk around with my camera. So I took a few questionable shots with my phone instead.

I couldn’t get enough of this crib quilt, made circa 1915 in upstate NY. And if I’d had $9500 spare, it would have been mine. (more…)
