So, I’m working full time now, and life is a juggle. We have a part-time sitter, I’m not spending every afternoon with H anymore. Which is great for her–she gets to run around with a fun college student who does all the fun things she wants to do. And it’s great for me–I work, I use my brain, I love what I’m doing. But I miss those long afternoons with her, and the projects and activities we’d do together.

I’ve been on a mission to plan more activities with H, and we are having a ball. I made up a kind of lesson plan book for her specifically, because this is just how my brain works best. So, I’ve been loosely planning out our days in it. Not down to the second, but I’ve been planning library days, baking days, etc.
I went to NYCC last weekend, one day on my own and one day with H. She had her picture taken with Batman, who was taking his NYCC duties very seriously. H had no idea what was going on.
I don’t typically think of myself as a gamer. I think of myself as the wife of a gamer. Someone who bakes Pac Man cupcakes in support of her husband’s 24 hour Extra Life marathon. Who makes a pixel wedding quilt for her Bethesda-employed brother-in-law.
Adam marathoned like a champ. And has now been asleep for most of the day.
Kathy grabbed this screen shot of us when I joined in from 1-3pm for Guitar Hero and Lego Rock Band. My throat is still sore from all that singing!
It’s that time of year again.
Adam will be doing his 24 Games in 24 Hours video game marathon on October 16th. Last year he raised nearly $1000 for Texas Children’s Hospital, and I’m so excited because this year Extra Life has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network. And you can designate the CMN hospital that gets your raised money, so Adam’s donating to the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Day 3 is really just heading home. It’s about 5pm, and I’m sitting on the Bolt Bus back to New York.
I finished my blog post last night before we went to dinner. So here are my last highlights from Boston.
Today was a good day, but man is it cold here in Boston. I wish I had my winter coat, but all I packed was my rain coat.
We took the T over to Cambridge this morning so Adam could go to a Microsoft event with Major Nelson. While he was there, I walked around MIT in the cold. It was actually snowing when we woke up.
We’re heading to Boston for PAX East (Penny Arcade Expo for the East Coast)! We went to PAX in Seattle last September and had a great time. Really, I wandered around the convention floor for a couple of hours and then flitted around Seattle the rest of the time. So I can’t say I was actually at PAX. But Adam assures me it was excellent.
