I’ve finished gluing the 6 minute circles together. They’re not sewn in yet, I wanted to glue all of them first and then sew the whole thing in one go. I’m in love with how it looks.

I’d originally planned on adding twice as many circles to this, and my plan was to do these 6 minute circles then go back and applique circles into the gaps, making 4 circles in each row across (2 applique, 2 6-minute). I actually like the clean simplicity of this as it is, and I may not add the rest of the circles. I don’t know what I’ll do with all the circles I’ve already cut, but I’m not going to overthink it.

close up circle quiltThis quilt top needs to have the circles stitched in place, then I just need to quilt and bind it. I’m actually thinking of making this wall hanging like the tie quilt-inspired baby blankets I like to make from Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts. I’m thinking of skipping the binding in favor of sewing it wrong sides together and turning it right side out. Then I’ll just put some stitches in an interesting color between all these circles to tie it together like a tie quilt. Not sure yet if that’s what I’ll do, but I’m leaning towards it.
