Once again, it’s summer, and I didn’t take many outfit photos last month. At all. But I did grab three days of outfits in Italy, where I turned on my full fancy tourist look.

This was September…running around Disney World in shorts and sneakers, then getting through back to school craziness, also in shorts and sneakers. September was hot this year. We finally got the first good turtleneck day on the 24th, and look at that giant grin I’m sporting in that teal turtleneck. Fall is my season!

I wore real clothes this month! Lots of them. And a bunch of new dresses from Modcloth (love the cute prints) and eShakti (addicted to the custom sizing) that I bought for back to school.
Also, I went back to school.

A few weeks ago I wrote this post for GeekMom. I’m reposting it here because today I have orientation for my new teaching job. The wardrobe is on my mind a lot.
It’s that time of year again, when back-to-school commercials take over the airwaves and summer feels like it’s slipping away. But all of the school talk is focused on getting the kids ready for a new year. What about the teachers? We like new things in our closets, too.

So, I got a part-time teaching job for September. I wrote about it a couple of weeks ago, and it’s a very exciting time.
I wasn’t actually planning on going back to teaching, but I started getting the itch this past spring. That itch to do my old work, to use that part of my brain, to teach. I consider a lot of things my work these days, but this was my work. I missed it. I was good at it. I had a hard time with how I left it. I applied to only this one two-day-a-week position thinking if I get it, great. If I don’t, that’s that.
And I got it.
And I’m excited. Really, really excited. Read more on My New Library…
Seriously, I am not even making that statement up. Today was her first day of toddler school in her Montessori program, and I tried hard to keep it together. I took these photos this morning after I got her dressed.
I got the tree started this year, but it was really the 4th graders who turned it into a masterpiece. This is my favorite tree yet.
I sketched out the tree on brown craft paper and cut it out.
