Today was our 10th wedding anniversary, I can’t believe how quickly that went. It feels like we’ve lived such a lifetime since our wedding day, but also…it was brief.

We’re celebrating in Mexico. This month is a whirlwind, with big, exciting things happening I’m not quite ready to announce yet. But I’ve also been planning and preparing for this trip, so I really haven’t posted much. I’m working on that, but for now. This is where I’m at.

The trip has been amazing. After getting some incredible news as we were boarding the plane on Tuesday, spending a couple of days asking questions and figuring things out, I celebrated the good news with a morning here, at the hotel’s spa.

And otherwise, we’ve just been hanging out.

Adam hurt his foot right before we left. It was an old injury that suddenly flared up, but he made it into a podiatrist before we left. An x-ray later, he has a fracture on his left foot that’s rubbing against a tendon alongside the bone. It’s excruciating, and he’s now in a boot air cast until the doctor says otherwise. But he still has been taking H around the pool, playing with her and being amazing.

We originally had elaborate plans for our 10th anniversary that involved dropping H off with her grandparents in England while we went off somewhere else. We honeymooned in the Maldives, and we thought we might try and go back. But in the end we decided we just wanted to hang out as a family, somewhere fairly close to home, and just enjoy a beach and some nice weather.

And this creature.

That was her this morning, day of our wedding anniversary. She stayed with an awesome babysitter from the hotel, named Thelmi, while we went out for an anniversary dinner here at the resort. It’s been a great anniversary, and a great marriage, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years are like.
