I’ve finally hit my stride a little with the whole Christmas present thing. This weekend I got out the sewing machine to make another adorable and ridiculously easy baby blanket from Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts. This is the 3rd one I’ve made this year, and I love how something so simple becomes unique and perfect with the right fabrics.

One of my coworkers is expecting her first grandchild any day now. I decided to make another Super Quick +Easy Baby Quilt from Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson, like Alannah’s Blanket. It’s a boy, but since I don’t know the baby’s name I’m calling this Yvonne’s Blanket (she’s the grandma). I found this cute teddy bears in wagons fabric and decided to use that for the front.

Little Alannah, daughter of our friends Colm and Adele, has her first birthday party in a couple of weeks. I decided to make her a baby blanket. Colm and Adele have a nice, quirky sense of humor so I thought they would like something whimsical but not super girly. I like homemade gifts, and I wanted to try something more challenging. I’ve never finished a blanket before. I love all these spring birthdays, they’re giving me a lot of great practice!
