Disney! We arrived in Disney last Saturday and hit the ground running. Landed at the airport, checked into the hotel, went straight to Magic Kingdom to meet Mickey.

We didn’t last until the electric light parade, but it was a great afternoon and evening. Then we spent the next 2 days in Epcot.

My in-laws took H after lunch, and Adam and I had a date day/night. Which was one of the best date nights we’ve had in ages! We wandered around the World Showcase together (in the pouring rain). Frozen margaritas, scenic Epcot countries, stationery shopping in China and Japan, and ice cream in France. The best.

Then we came back to the hotel, changed out of our soggy clothes, and went over to Disney Springs. We had an absolutely delicious dinner at Morimoto Asia (excellent, excellent sushi). Then we walked around Disney Springs and shopped. And snacked on poutine at The Daily Poutine.

There were so many ornaments to pick from in the Mickey Christmas store. We get an ornament for our tree on every trip or fun outing we have, it’s our souvenir tradition. IMG_2151

Then on Tuesday it was on to Animal Kingdom. My extended family doesn’t seem to be as excited about Animal Kingdom as they are about other parks, but we had an absolute blast there. And after Labor Day weekend, there were zero crowds. It’s so different than I remember from our last trip seven years ago. H loved Khali River Rapids so much that she and Adam went right back on it together.

Then we did the Kilimanjaro Safari and saw some wildlife (except gorillas, H was having no part of the gorillas).IMG_2186

And, after a few hours relaxing back at the hotel, we went to the Polynesian for the Spirit of Aloha luau. Which I did in 1987 on my first Disney trip and have not done since. The fire dancer was a huge hit with H.
