I came up with this winter bulletin board idea around Thanksgiving, and I saved it for January. I love it so much that I might keep it up until spring. Can you tell the kids are having a snowball fight? I didn’t know if it would translate.

I don’t have my Halloween decorations up yet, but I do have all of my October displays out.

I love my displays so much more now that I’m doing the signs in color. And work has been so great this month, I’m tackling a ton of projects that are so satisfying. My brain is working pretty well during the 2nd trimester, so I’m taking advantage before it turns to mush again in a couple of months. I’ve totally revamped the Battle of the Books program at school, I’ve got the schedule finished for the library moms, I put in another great book order, I finally tackled the filing system my predecessor left behind, and all my lesson plans are written through the first week of November.

And I was so calm, it was great.

A lot of my bulletin boards and displays still needed to be finished, and since I can no longer easily/safely scramble on top of my bookcases like I normally would, I saved them for this week so the older kids could help. They’re so helpful, I love it. The 3rd and 4th grade classes took my “Spotlight On” bulletin board from this:

Today is Dr. Seuss’s birthday, and I’m a little at a loss this year. I’ve spent the past 3 years celebrating in various ways, but at my new school the teachers kind of do their own things. And they’ve been doing those things for years. So I’m of course reading Dr. Seuss books all this week and showing Dr. Seuss movies. But it’s not quite the same as it’s been in the past.

So I thought I’d show my March library displays instead, including Dr. Seuss.
