I’m finally getting on the John Green bandwagon, and I’m starting with Looking for Alaska. So far I think it’s fantastic. I’ve started An Abundance of Katherines no less than 3 times and have never gotten very far with it. So I thought I’d go to his first book and work my way through.

I’m a Twitterer now. If you want to follow me, I’m @jackiereeve. There are fascinating things out there in the Twitterverse. I’ve been pointed to this excellent article about NYPL’s Librarian to the Stars. That’s the job title I’ve wanted for some time now, but as my reading list looks absolutely nothing like David Smith’s I think I’m a ways away. I feel incredibly unliterary (is that a word?) comparing his favorite authors and those he’s helped to my list of Books Read.

I’ve started seeing a new chiropractor, so we’ll see how that goes. I went to one several months ago, just for a couple of visits. I didn’t keep up with it. My mother’s chiropractor recommended this new person because he specializes in helping asthmatics. I’ve had all kinds of chronic breathing and sinus problems in the past couple of years, and at this point I will try anything to correct it. After a fleet of specialists and a virtual pharmacy’s worth of Rx’s, if someone sprinkled me with pixie dust and told me to cluck like a chicken, I’d try it. As I write this I’m all stuffed up and have a headache so bad I have to keep closing my eyes while I type. It’s convenient that I can type without looking (mostly).

I have no new recipes on the horizon this week. Just old classics that I don’t have to think too hard about. And I still have to finish my Dr. Seuss quilt, I haven’t sewn a thing all week.

My spring break is in less than 2 weeks! And I jinxed our plans by blogging about them. Just as we were getting ready to book this trip to Barbados, Adam discovered that his passport had expired the week before. So he’s applied for renewal, which supposedly takes 2 weeks. That should mean it will arrive any day now, and we’ll just have to try and book something last minute. We thought about US destinations, but once we started talking about the Caribbean nothing else would cut it.

I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of 3 new books from Amazon: America’s Test Kitchen Family Baking Book and Heather Ross’s new Weekend Sewing.
