“I love dogs! They’re my favorite pet animals.”
“I love parrots! They’re my favorite birds.”
“I love dolphins! They’re my favorite sea animals.”
“I love lions! They’re my favorite big animals.”
“I love dinosaurs! They’re my favorite reptiles.”
“I love spiders! They’re my favorite bugs.”

Except this week it changed to:

“Butterflies are my favorite bugs!”

She has a great big heart, and it is full of rooms for animals to live in. She just loves creatures. Not all of the small ones, not all of the time. But she respects animals, and she loves most of them. That picture of her with the parrot is from our trip to Croco Cun Zoo, and she was just fearless with all of the animals she met.

Her collection of doctor kits, for animals and people, is extensive. You don’t have to go far in this house before you find a stethoscope, or a blood pressure cuff, or find yourself tripping over a toy pet carrier. She is frequently available to give checkups and emergency services, and she makes house calls. I mean, she brought her “doctor tools” to the zoo in case their vet needed some extra help.

She hugs horses.

She lets dogs lick her snack fingers.

And she daydreams underwater.

She’s magic.
