Let me start this post by saying that I already know I’m the worst quilting bee member in history. I knew this when I set out yesterday, during a snow day, to catch up on the pile of blocks I owe people going back to October. But this is what cemented the title for me:

My finished beach house block for Chelsea in the Pretty in Pink bee.

My finished Drunk Love-inspired block for Elizabeth in Bee Improvisational.

Anyone have a guess as to what’s wrong? It wasn’t immediately obvious to me, either, so don’t feel bad.

Like I mentioned with my September Bee Improvisational blocks, I’m really behind. But, I did get both of my September bees taken care of and mailed off last Monday. So glad to have those off my plate!

This month (last month) Lisa asked us to make blocks with a “string” theme, whatever that means to us. I love this 1st block, I sewed together strips of the patterned fabric and just alternated fabrics, leaving 1/2″ rows all along this 10.5″ block. I love it!

The 2nd block was a different story. I’d just about run out of fabric after making the 1st one, so this is what I ended up with:

I’ve finished the blocks for the 1st month of my 1st quilting bee, Pretty in Pink. These wonky stars are for Amy in Houston, and I’ve never made this block before. I think they came out really well, even though I had trouble matching up all the seams exactly. Amy sent everyone the link to this great wonky stars tutorial from The Silly BooDilly, but her blocks are 9.5″ square instead of 12.5″ square.
