<—I looked like this.

I was in Kauai, Hawaii with Adam.

It was June 30th; school had been out since the 17th.

I stared at the 1st test I took for ages, I couldn’t believe it. So I took a 2nd test.

I found out at 6:30 in the morning and kept it a secret from Adam all day. I told him after dinner and before dessert at 22 North. I’d put March 9th, 2012 on our calendar as BABY DAY and told him to look at it on his phone. (I’ve since learned the baby’s actually due on March 10th).

I figured out I was 4 weeks along.

I signed up for whattoexpect.com and got excited to meet other new moms. Ten minutes later I freaked out about all the terrifying stories and tried to delete my account. Haven’t been on it since.

I wondered if I was supposed to get on a preschool waiting list or something.

I tried to figure out if I’d still be able to go on rides during LeakyCon (answer: NO).

I plotted elaborate ways to tell our whole family. In the end I just blurted it out.

I had no idea how I would keep it a secret this long.

TODAY.

<—I look like this.

I’m in my 2nd trimester. Thirteen weeks and 3 days.

I don’t have much of a bump, but it’s already hard to reach the table when I’m eating. Pregnant bellies get hard.

I’m extremely intimidated by pregnant Beyonce, who seems to be about as far along as I am. She spent her 1st trimester running around on stage, I spent mine taking naps. Lots and lots of naps.

Eggs traumatize me.

I now have the attention span of a goldfish. I haven’t finished a book all summer.

I miss cold cuts.

I didn’t bake any pies this summer. Decided this was alright since I have something else in the oven. *badump bump*

Pregnancy brain is real. I spent 5 minutes last week trying to get into the wrong car. It wasn’t even the same color as mine.

I lost 3 pounds at first and only gained back 2 so far. And still none of my clothes fit.

My back arches differently now, so I’m starting to waddle.

My entire family thinks it’s a boy, I have absolutely no idea. But if it is, I like the name Oliver. Adam hates this name.

I haven’t got the slightest idea where the nursery is going, and we have 4 bedrooms.

My bag has turned into an old lady purse, full of saltines and ginger mints.

I’m not sure how I’ll make it through the school year without all of those naps. But we’ll find out starting tomorrow!
