Every summer, Adam’s firm organizes scores of different community service projects and gives employees a paid day off to participate. I’ve participated in the past, and I took today off so we could go clean up the beaches at Sandy Hook with COA. It was a great project. All the stuff we removed will be replaced by new trash in no time at all, but we collected a lot of data to at least help in the continuing preservation of our oceans and coasts. It’s amazing what washes up on the shore or gets left behind by beach goers. We found countless bottle caps, straws, and plastic candy wrappers (the kind that restaurant mints come in). If you head to the beach this summer, make sure you take everything with you when you leave. Don’t ever litter, you never know where it might end up.
