So May was…eventful. We went to Mexico for a family vacation and celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary there. And while we were on the plane, I got a job offer. That I’ve accepted….

So Kathy co-wrote Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook with Prodigy from Mobb Deep. The book’s release was this past Tuesday, the 11th, and they had a book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Union Square. I am so stinking proud of that lady, she is just the best.

If you pick up the October issue of Inside Jersey, I have a feature on hippotherapy inside. Hippotherapy is the use of horses as a therapeutic tool for speech, PT, and OT. I pitched the idea several months back because H goes to one of the clinics I interviewed. She originally went for PT, now she goes for OT. And it’s been hugely beneficial for her, and motivating. She loves the horses she rides, and we’ve seen some great progress.

I started contributing to Noodle a few months ago, and it’s been a wonderful experience. This is a list of books recommendations I put together for them not long ago. There are great reads on this list, and I love the infographic Noodle put together.

In all of the hectic life stuff going on around here this year, from preschool prep to my new job, a definite upside has been writing. I’ve started writing for Hello Giggles, and for an educational site called Noodle. January brought its “A” game this year. It’s normally my least favorite month of the year; I’m over the snow and cold by month’s end, someone in the house almost always gets sick, and it just feels like it goes on forever. The bright spot exception is my very best good friend Laura Ann’s birthday, and I forgot it this year. Go home, January! You’re drunk!

januarysnowIt’s been snowing. Like, all the time.

macbookI’ve been thinking about getting a laptop for months now, and I finally bought one a couple of weeks ago. Best Buy was having a pretty good sale, and between writing, chasing H around, and some new courses I’m taking we kind of figured I needed to be a little more mobile. So, this was an investment in me. And my new endeavors.
