The same weekend with my in-laws that we headed to Diggerland also saw an impromptu beach trip. We took H to Jenkinson’s Aquarium, which is one of her happy places. It was breezy but not as cold as it usually is in November, so we headed out onto the sand afterwards for some play and attempts to get Christmas card photos.

We are having a pretty rough week around here. More on that another day, but it seemed like a good time to post some happy photos from the weekend before Thanksgiving, when Adam’s mom and stepfather came over from the UK for a long weekend. We went down to South Jersey to check out Diggerland after seeing IG photos from one of H’s classmates.

It’s time to move H out of her toddler bed and into a twin. She’d been boycotting the toddler bed, which was her converted crib, since the beginning of the school year. She absolutely refused to sleep in it, she’d camp out on the floor. And when fall started to kick into gear, Adam and I realized we needed to get her a new bed before it got way too chilly for her to be on the floor.

Meet Supergirl. I picked up this Simplicity pattern last month, thinking I’d make it at some point for her dress up box. At the time, she’d told me she wanted to be a horse for Halloween. Then she saw the pattern.

We are wild about mini muffins around here, and this is one of my tricks for getting more fruits and veggies into H’s body. But the little stinker knows now that I sneak things into her muffins, so she only wants to eat them if they come out of a mini muffin package from the store. So…I may have started saving the store packages to sneak my own muffins into them. I’m not above trickery when it comes to feeding this kid.

This recipe from Umami Girl is a double whammy. Bananas and sweet potatoes, so much good stuff. You don’t taste the sweet potatoes, these just taste like banana bread. I dotted chocolate chips into them after I’d poured them into my muffin pan to make them extra enticing.
