M5205I bought this pattern last October with the intent of making the witch wreath, then the Santa wreath. But I was never able to decide if these were quite my thing, or if I was turning into the kind of crafter who has a homemade wreath for every season. I never thought that would be me. I’m still not sure it is.

patterns and paisleyOn Twitter this week I learned that the new issue of Stitch magazine is out. The cover features a pillow by the very cool A Stitch in Dye, an Etsy shop I’ve looked at before and loved. So I started reading Malka’s blog, and she recently showed this fabulous Cynthia Rowley pattern from Simplicity. I loved her version so much thatI ran out this evening to buy it myself. JoAnn didn’t have any ideal options for fabrics, but I did pick up this fun paisley and a white linen in case I get crazy and attempt to actually make clothes for a change.

I’ve been all over Etsy this week and I’m obsessed with patterns and prints.

This week I bought this Amigurumi Happy Weather Mobile Pattern from AmyGaines. Her patterns are the most original I’ve seen, and someday when crochet and I become more than just acquaintances, I will make this. I have looked at this picture all week when I’m feeling grumpy, and I’ve discovered that it’s just impossible not to smile at it. What I’m still trying to find is a pattern for a knitted/crocheted/sewn gorilla. I collect gorillas and cannot find a way to make my own yet!!
