Still haven’t finished her costume! But I did finish this Halloween quilt. Let’s be real here, I’ve cut out the paper pattern but have not cut any fabric or sewn a stitch yet. I’ve been under the weather the past couple of days and haven’t made any more progress, but I will. I am determined to get this costume done by next Saturday, for a costume birthday party for one of H’s classmates.
These pictures aren’t great, but it’s too drizzly a day to lay this quilt top out on the lawn for some photos, and I just realized my camera’s battery is dead. iPhone all the way.

We finished this round robin at the beginning of September, but we haven’t pieced the blocks H received yet. There were actually four blocks we made over the summer, and I just completely forgot to take photos of the third! I can’t believe I did that, but if you check #kidsquiltroundrobin on Instagram you’ll see everyone’s photos.
And it’s made my quilt sandwiching so much easier. Usually I spread all 3 layers of a quilt out on my bed, pull it tight, and pin it. I’ve tried spray basting, and maybe I’ll try it again someday. But I still prefer pins. And I love this method. It lets me just use my cutting table, I don’t even have to spread the whole quilt flat.

I feel terrible that I don’t have any pictures of this quilt block finished. I definitely took photos of it, and now I can’t find them anywhere. I have a sinking suspicion I accidentally deleted the photos shortly after I took them. But this block was for Sophie’s stars quilt, and we had a lot of fun with this one!
