Porchiness is not a word, but let’s just pretend. Here’s my fall porchscape (pretty sure this is also not a word, but see if I care). Some of these mums and pumpkins have fallen on hard times since I took these photos a few weeks ago, but it is still so seasonal out there.

We took H to Atlantic Farms on Saturday, just like last year, to get a pumpkin and visit the petting zoo. We stopped at Hinck’s next door for lunch first; it wasn’t as crowded as last year, and still insanely delicious. Confession: we may have gone at least once over the summer to get a turkey dinner fix. Who can just save it for the holidays?

I’ve spent the past couple of hours carving pumpkins for Halloween. I carved 5 pumpkins using 2 ideas from Martha: black jack o’lanterns and orange spooky villages. I haven’t carved a pumpkin in many years, and this was so much fun. I’m definitely done decorating for Halloween, this is as big as I’ll get this year.
