Carter & Cavero

Red Bank, NJ has this fantastic oil and vinegar shop called Carter & Cavero. It just opened at the end of last year, and we were there to stock up not long after. You can taste everything, and the guys who own the shop are incredibly passionate and helpful.

Not everyone drinks, but everyone loves a bottle of something. So instead of always bringing a bottle of wine as a host or hostess gift to parties, I’ve decided to try bringing a bottle of oil or vinegar. Good oil or vinegar. The packaging of C&Cs products really lends itself to gift giving, and I like that it can be used beyond the day of the gathering. Especially now that summer is here, a caprese with some nice crusty bread and these oils and vinegars sounds really good.

I’m still finding ways to work these into my cooking, but so far here are my favorites:

Mix the Meyer Lemon Oil in with some spaghetti, chicken, a little butter and lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Pour a small amount of the White Truffle Oil into a basic macaroni and cheese recipe. A little goes a long way, but it is so good.

Try the Tangerine Balsamic Vinegar on your caprese salad.

Drizzle some of the White Truffle Oil onto roast potatoes.
