Time to Pick New Glasses

Wednesday, March 6th, 2013

I’m trying out glasses.com for my new frames, so I picked 5 frames to try on at home. I have to send them back ASAP and make my choices, and I’m stuck. I’m definitely getting pair #2, but I can’t decide on the second pair. I was leaning towards #3 (bottom left), but seeing them in photos I’m not sure. I was going for kind of a dorky chic thing, but they may be neither. Adam says #1 makes me look like Will.I.Am, and they are BabyPhat frames so I see where he’s going with that. I have no idea, any thoughts?

So Adam Ordered the Coat

Friday, February 8th, 2013

That guy. I couldn’t stop talking about the Marimekko raincoat for Hannah, and he was going to try and get over to the store during lunch this week to get it. But then it popped up on the website (it wasn’t there when I checked), and he ordered it. And it. Is. Amazing. 12 months size, so she’ll grow into it all spring and summer. Entirely fabulous.

Happy Birthday to me!

She Wore the Dress!

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

Exactly one year ago today, I posted a picture of this dress.

I was still pregnant, I’d caught a sale at Janie & Jack, and I was so excited to buy a frilly, girly dress. They only had it in size 6-12 months, so she’s only now fitting into it. We meant to put her in it for Christmas, but we just let her stay in PJs all day. So today was my nephew CJ’s Christening, and Hannah wore the dress for the first time. I took terrible photos with my point and shoot, but I still just love seeing this dress finally on her. I should’ve had a little baby shoot when we got home, but Adam has been sick for days, Hannah was asleep, and I sort of collapsed into this 2 hour nap without even realizing it.

I love it! And that face, I’m pretty sure she was about to get into some mischief right after I snapped this picture.

Hannah’s First Halloween

Friday, November 30th, 2012

I was looking through pictures last night and realized that I never posted photos of her first Halloween costume. There really was no Halloween this year, but we did get dressed up to go visit my mom the weekend before the storm. I spent months agonizing over Hannah’s first costume, planning a coordinating theme for the family, and I was so proud of this. I really wanted to show her off, but in the end we had just had a brief photo op in front of my mom’s and a quick tour around a very bizarre Halloween party at the Parks and Rec building in my hometown. It consisted of a hayride around the Little League field and a strange dance-type thing happening inside the building. The hayride line was down the block, and loud dances are not really Hannah’s cup of tea yet.

But, I still think her Halloween experience deserves to be recorded for posterity Especially since it’s November 30th and holiday posts are about to take over my life. Last chance.

So here is Hannah the sushi:

She loved eating that fish.

And we are…packets of soy sauce!

I painstakingly made shirts for Adam and me using my Cricut, t-shirt transfer paper, an online Japanese translator, and a really sharp X-Acto knife. I loved them!

And, of course, Nana loves sushi, too.

October!

My favorite month is here!

We survived September, albeit with 2 sick days used for Hannah and myself. I made a weak attempt to take some self portrait shots again, but as you can see most of the time I just forgot. Or was busy getting my hair pulled out by a grabby baby (she loves the curls). It’s been an incredibly tough month adjusting to life as a working mom, and I’m still adjusting; maybe I will write about it at some point. But we’re doing okay, I’m thrilled with the things I have up my sleeve in the library this year, and I’m so excited that fall is really here now. I have a stack of posts to catch up on, so hopefully I’ll have a chance to sit down this week and do just that. Good stuff.
