I should get around to posting this, since it’s almost the middle of July and all. And, it’s been almost a full month since I’ve posted anything. Summer. Life. New job. All The Things.

I barely took photos last month, and I don’t think I’ve taken any yet for July. Every year, summer is just thin for these photos. It’s such a busy time! And, I’m basically living in shorts and tees. But I do clean up when I pay attention. I just started my new job last week, but I went in for a couple of days in June for the annual all team meetings.

H finished her school year, and she started swim camp. She finished last week, but it was such a great experience that we’re going to sign her up for a few more weeks this summer. That kid is a fish, and she loves it.

So, June was my last month as a freelancer. Last month before I go back to work full time, for the first time since…2013. Almost 4 years to the day (I left my last full-time teaching job June 30th, started this job July 5th). It’s been such a ride. I loved freelancing. I loved going back to teaching part time for a year and a half, but it was just untenable with H’s extra needs. Now it’s time for something new.

I put in 3 GeekMom posts before I started. I’ve stepped down from running the GM Instagram account (@geekmomblog), and I’ve moved down to Occasional Contributor. I’m hoping to still write about books from time to time, but mainly my GeekMom days are, I think, passed. Another end of an era, I started there in May of 2013, towards the end of my last year of full-time teaching. Check out my last posts for a while: 11 Books on My To-Read Pile After Book Expo America, 25 Affordable Birthday Presents for Your Kids’ Friends and Classmates, and The Cricut Explore Air 2 Is Great for Geeky Crafting and Projects Around the House.

And now it’s July, and onwards and upwards. I’ve got to get back on top of this blog, I have so many projects to post and things I want to make. First, sleep.
