Other posts on this project: Beach Quilt Do Over, Beach Quilt Pt. 2.

I have finished piecing the quilt top for our new beach blanket, and I’ve pieced the backing for it, too.

The top, spread out unceremoniously on my bathroom floor.

Man, this is so wrinkly. I basically made a 4 patch using solid khaki fabric and pieced sections of my remaining All Hands on Deck.

A close-up of the backing. I sort of kind of managed to piece the label right into that yardage without making too many cuts.

Now I have to sandwich it. Since this quilt is designed to be lounged on over lumpy sand, I decided to use this opportunity to try piecing the batting together from the gazillion scraps I have lying around. I figured 2 seams wouldn’t be very noticeable on sand, so we’ll see how that works out. I love using that stuff up, though!
