I’ve already mentioned this new cupcake bakery in Red Bank here and here. I love this place, I’m so happy to have a good local place for cupcakes given the Reeve family obsession. I thought I’d post about the shop itself, which is right down the street from Riverview hospital.

The shop itself is just adorable, with lots of old fashioned candy and trinkets for sale.

The cupcake bar is a great idea, and the combinations for toppings and fillings are half the fun. Their specialty cakes are also fantastic, Adam had the Red Bank cake last week–red velvet cupcake, chocolate ganache on top, and finished with a gold foil chocolate coin–and loved it. I love the confetti and red velvet cupcakes, and the vanilla buttercream is definitely my favorite. They also have a great specialty cupcake option with proceeds going to a different charity each month. My vanilla cream stuffed confetti cake with blue vanilla buttercream proceeds went to The Trevor Project. How awesome is that? Cake that gives back to a beyond worthy cause. That’s perfection.

The staff is great, too. This is Chris, one of the co-owners.  He put time and care into getting the cupcakes right, with the colors I wanted. As someone who gets a little obsessive about aesthetics this is a big deal to me. I appreciate the details, I really do.

We’re having a few friends over for a cookout tomorrow, and I will be heading back to Sugarush in the morning for some treats to share. I love that, being able to run into Red Bank instead of up to Manhattan for good cupcakes. My life is now complete.
